November 2021 – April 2022

Language training for teaching staff

(Task 3)

The language training for the teaching staff involved in the CNC-PROG project was launched in November 2021. The aim of this task is to help all teaching staff participating in the project improve their language skills. The course participants, both the domestic and foreign teaching staff, will develop intermediate English communication skills. The course is organized for 10 teachers and instructors, both from Poland (8 persons) and abroad (2 persons). The participants in the training include employees of the Lublin University of Technology (8 persons) along with representatives of business and industry (2 persons). Due to the focus on technical vocabulary and specialist terminology in machine design, metalworking processes, and CNC programming and control, the class sessions (2 hours each) are held every second week. The course will take a total of 30 hours of language training, focusing on English for mechanical engineering, presentations and conversations. It will also address issues such as the promotion of the university, Polish education system, and Poland as an attractive place to study (including the promotion of Polish culture and customs).

The primary objective of the language training is to provide an English-language orientation course for the trainers and instructors involved in the project and to increase their communication skills in English. The language training for the teaching staff will be held from November 2021 to April 2022. The course will be conducted by a highly qualified employee of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Lublin University of Technology, who is a former English teacher and now holds the position of a technical translator at the Faculty. The course participants will be awarded an internal certificate of completion confirming the acquired language skills.
